The services that you receive at London St. Andrew's College
are an important part of your overall college
experience. From enrolment, visa support, employment to
wellbeing, we play a vital role in helping you to achieve your potential and
gain the maximum benefit from your time at London SAC. Our services are delivered via our Student Welfare Office.
This arrangement brings together different support services such as
employability, international student advice, airport pickup, accommodation assistance
and disability support. Student welfare services of London SAC engage experienced support staff,
to carry out its responsibilities.

Mission Statement
London SAC Student Services aims to offer a comprehensive,
readily accessible and responsive service in order to promote academic,
physical, emotional and spiritual well being of all individuals, within our
student community. Student Services aim to benefit the students of London St.
Andrew's College and offers advice and guidance in relation to:
- Accommodation
- Airport Pick-up
- Banking
- Wellbeing
- Library services
- Careers Services
- Counselling
- International student issues
- Miscellaneous
These services will be provided by professionally trained support, advisory and counseling staff and, where appropriate, student volunteers within the College's confidentiality policy guideline. Services will be offered on an individual on mutually supportive basis, responding to the needs of students when and wherever necessary.

Accommodation:
Finding suitable accommodation in London can be challenging. The Student Welfare Office at London St. Andrew's College assists students to find accommodation locally before starting their course. In addition, London St. Andrew's College Student welfare Office can arrange temporary accommodation for the student, on request.
Students are adviced to contact our student welfare office at least four weeks before accommodation is required. Our student welfare office work with local accommodation agencies, property owners and households to provide a selection of suitable student houses for let during term time. |

Airport pickup:
London SAC offers an Airport Pick up Service for all newly enrolled International students arriving in the UK for the first time. Students will be welcomed from Airport terminal and transported directly to their accommodation destination. Students are advised to contact our Students Welfare Office prior their departure with the flight name, number, and terminal and arrival time. Reasonable charges apply for this service which before hand.

18+ Student Oyster Card:
TFL offers 30% special discounts to students, who are enrolled on a full time course, on travel expenses when they travel by bus, London Underground, DLR, Overground, Riverboat and Tram services.

Well being
London St. Andrew's College helps students to register with a local doctor (GP). Please note that overseas students enrolled in a course of more than six months duration are entitled to free medical care under the UK National Health Service (NHS). However, medicines have to be paid for. All students must register with a local GP. Students encountering any difficulties in obtaining medical care must consult the Student Welfare Office immediately. Students are advised to visit our useful links section to know how to register with the GP. |

International Student issues:
London St. Andrew's College Student welfare office has a dedicated advisor to advice student free of cost on a range of
issues including:
- Applying for a student visa and renewals
- Working in the UK
- Dependants and their rights
Students are advised to book a slot to meet our student counsellor via telephoning or emailing on college address. In addition, appointments can be booked via our dedicated administration team at the reception desk.

Library services:
London St. Andrew's College has its own library with a good collections of books on Accounting, Business, Computing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, English language, Law and general interest. Further, you can utilise the Central Library, Ilford which are withig walking distance of the college. Our Library stocks
textbooks and journals, recommended by awarding bodies. Students are allowed to
use the library during the normal college
opening hours. In addition, students are authorised to borrow up to two books
at a time, for a maximum of two weeks. Reference books and
material cannot be borrowed.

Careers Service:
The Careers Service plays a key role in developing and enhancing students employability. It provides individual careers guidance, careers information and careers education activities. These services are conducted by our student welfare team. Student can access the Careers Service during their time at London SAC and after completion of studies. Counselling:
Should student face problems or
difficulties that threaten to interfere with their well-being or ability to
study, the Counselors offer a one to one
confidential service, designed to help students to find ways of managing them
more effectively. The service also runs group sessions from time to time on
issues such as anxiety management and provide self-help information and advice in the form of
leaflets that cover a wide range of problems such as stress, depression and eating disorders. Students can make appointments
with counsellors at the college
campus and all sessions take place in appropriately discreet, comfortable rooms. If a student
needs to see a counsellor urgently, there could be an emergency appointment
possible through the Reception desk. |

Student Cafeteria and Kitchen
The College has a cafeteria for you with hot and cold drink dispensing
facilities. Tables and chairs are available where you
could make yourself comfortable
during breaks and the lunch hour. A TV is also available for entertainment. Fountain
drinking water is available.
The student kitchen is quite spacious and caters to the needs of students
for storing food in the refrigerator, heating food
before eating( in a microwave) and
for washing up, after eating.
Photocopier, Printer,
Scanner and Fax Machine
We have photocopiers, scanners, printers and fax machines for student
support. Students get tutor –assigned course
material free through the module tutor, provided
he/she attends the class in time. Late
comers or absentee students will have to pay for such course material | |
