The School of Health & Social Care (HSC) at London St. Andrew’s College has a long standing reputation for providing student-centered, innovative programmes of education that prepare and develop health and social care practitioners. We take pride in the quality of our educational experience, working closely with partners in health, social care and private service provision to ensure studying at HSC leads to fitness for practice and purpose.


We offer wider range of NVQs for the adult student under NVQ 3 and 4 levels. In addition, we have dynamic lecturers working in the School who are contributing to new knowledge around a number of topics, working collaboratively across the School, University and health and social care community. Our 100% student is been placed to the industry as part of their education.

YOUR STUDY OPTIONS

The NCFE Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care has been accredited by the Qualifications regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is part of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The minimum age for entry to this qualification is 16. This qualification aims to provide recognition and accreditation for those working in the health and social care sector whose roles involve the provision of care and support to children, young people and adults in a range of contexts. This includes both within protected environments such as private care homes as well as in individual’s own houses.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have ideally achieved qualifications in a related area at Level 2 or above. However, this NVQ may be accessed by candidates without that qualification profile who have relevant occupational experience. It’s ideal for candidates who’d like to:

Develop their knowledge of health and social care,
Improve their career prospects, or progress to further training,
Complete the programme as part of their own continuous professional development.

The qualification has 2 routes: Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), and Health and Social Care (Adults).

There are 3 common mandatory units for this qualification:
• Unit 01 - Promote effective communication for and about individuals
• Unit 02 - Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment
• Unit 03 - Reflect on and develop your practice
• Unit 04 - Promote the well-being and protection of children and young people (children and young people)
• Unit 05 - Promote choice, well- being and the protection of all individuals (adults).
